Schluchseewerk AG

Moved by the power of water

The energy transition in Germany towards renewable energies is making pumped storage power plants important building blocks for security of supply. As one of the largest operators in Europe, Schluchseewerk AG and its five power plants make a noticeable contribution to stabilizing the electricity grid. This is because wind and sun do not provide reliable energy. Schluchseewerk AG's modern pumped storage power plants ensure that electricity generated from renewable sources can be stored when there is a surplus and released again when there is a shortage. They intervene when there is an urgent need and help to prevent grid collapses.

In addition, the company, which has its headquarters in Laufenburg/Baden, also uses natural resources with small hydroelectric power plants in order to achieve the goal of climate-neutral electricity production even on a small scale.

Cleaner, more sustainable, more efficient, more modern and more effective

There can be no security of supply.
