Our goal is to offer products that are as environmentally friendly as possible. When we have a product idea, we examine how environmentally friendly the implementation can be, what is technically possible and look for the best or most sensible solution - in other words, an ecologically sensible product. Consumers should get a good product at a fair price that they can enjoy for as long as possible. We have the same expectations for the people and companies involved in production and sales. Fair trade and good working conditions are a prerequisite. Transparency and a great willingness to provide service help to achieve this goal.
The most effective way to protect the environment and save resources is to reuse. That's why we design our products with a refill option wherever possible. The yaweco toothbrushes have replaceable heads that are so small that only the used part is replaced and disposed of, the various dental flosses are packaged in cans that can be refilled and the interdental brushes can also be clipped out.
And we try to use materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible. Our plastic products are made of biodegradable plastics wherever possible. Plastic bristles in toothbrushes no longer contain crude oil, but castor oil.
All products are in plastic-free packaging. The packaging is made of cardboard and is simple, so no double packaging with inner paper bags.
For us, regionality is a point of sustainability. All products, except the dental floss, are made in the Black Forest. The dental floss is made in Italy.
The latest product series is the Black Forest Line: products made from local wood and produced regionally. There are now numerous bamboo products from the Far East available to buy in the markets. The bamboo that can be processed only grows in Asia and is also processed there. With our products made from local wood and produced in the Black Forest, we have a regional and therefore ecologically more sensible alternative for us in Europe. In terms of price, we cannot compete with the cheap products from the Far East. But: The Black Forest Line products were produced under humane conditions, with fair pay, have only short transport routes and the added value, i.e. the entire economic performance and its income, remains in the region. Despite this, the products are still relatively cheap and are in the middle range. Refilling also brings a price advantage.
